REGION: Cerrado TASTING NOTES: Chocolate, Nutty, Heavy Body ROAST LEVEL: Medium/Full City+
We admit it. It took us a few years to get excited about decaf coffee. We love the rush that coffee provides, and decaf coffee can often taste bad. Some roasters might select a poorer quality bean than they do for "regular" coffees, and some decaffeination techniques are known for dulling flavor.
Then this group of outdoorsy coffee snobs aged a few years, slowed down a tiny bit and realized...a great cup of decaf in the afternoon can be a beautiful thing. Especially if you have just set up camp, need to warm up, and it is too early for bourbon.
We source, cup, and roast our Brazil Decaf to the same standards we hold for all our small batch coffees.
This bean goes through a Swiss Water Process which uses water from the pristine environment of the coast mountains of British Columbia, Canada to gently remove the caffeine until the coffee beans are 99.9% caffeine-free, while maintaining the bean's distinctive origin and flavor characteristics. It's decaffeinated coffee without compromise. Coffee decaffeinated using the environment-friendly Swiss Water Process undergoes regular caffeine level audits to ensure compliance to 99.9% caffeine-free.
We roast on Mondays and Thursdays and ship the next day. All orders placed on Monday or Thursday after 9:00 am will be shipped after the next roast day.
